Players To Watch in the Upcoming 2017 NFL Season

The 2017 NFL season begins in September. Similar to all other seasons in the past, every American sports fan is in high anticipation, not only because Super Bowl LI champs New England Patriots will start things off against the Kansas City Chiefs, but also because there is a lot of excitement over the new crop of players who came in after the recently concluded NFL Draft. But the games alone aren’t the only thing making everyone excited since there are millions waiting for fantasy football, NFL free picks, and of course, those who rely on getting insider information on early betting odds.

But instead of talking about the early contenders and possible team match-ups and traditional rivalries, what if we discuss the top players to watch in the upcoming season?

1 – Robert Griffin III

Quarterback

The cat-quick quarterback played for the Cleveland Browns last season, but the team cut him at the last minute before the new season begins. However, even if Griffin was recently cut, he’s still far from calling it quits. A 2011 Heisman trophy recipient himself, there is very little doubt he’s going to find himself a new home before the start of the season.

2 – Matt Ryan

Quarterback

Ryan is no doubt one of the most popular players in the NFL today. Although part of that popularity is because of the epic meltdown he and his team, Atlanta Falcons went through after giving up a huge lead against New England and eventually lose the Super Bowl. But the very same setback Ryan endured last season can also be the best motivation to return as a hungrier and more desperate quarterback for the Falcons.

3 – Michael Thomas

Wide Receiver

The wide receiver for the New Orleans Saints played remarkably last season, totaling 92 catches and 1,137 yards, which in turn produces enough intrigue as to how he can sustain the momentum in the new season. The Saints look to improve their offense in the new season and that right there is an indication that Thomas will be filling in a bigger role. The Ohio State University star had a promising NFL rookie season with the Saints when he broke franchise records for a rookie in several areas, including receiving yards, touchdowns, and receptions.

4 – Blake Bortles

Quarterback

Although Bortles had a rough time last season, the 25-year old has more than enough time to make up for it this year. The third overall pick of the 2014 NFL Draft has all the support he need from the Jacksonville Jaguars and he sure does have the talent to be one of the best in the NFL, provided he’ll be more mature coming in to the new season.
